In the face of the imposition of tariffs, the president of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, has been praised for her intelligence and firmness in handling the situation, according to Alejandro Pérez Ibarra, the general secretary of Morena. Pérez Ibarra called on citizens to participate in an assembly scheduled for next Sunday in the Zócalo of the capital, urging unity in the face of the lack of commitment from the United States.

In Pérez Ibarra's words: "It is important to stand with the president this Sunday to hear the decisions and determinations she will make. The call is authentic and legitimate." He highlighted that cooperation and dialogue are needed, avoiding submission, in this situation which he considers crucial for defending the country's interests.

Although Pérez Ibarra confirmed his personal presence at the assembly, he clarified that the steering committee will not finance the mobilization of people, so party militants, supporters, and representatives must attend with their own resources. He emphasized that beyond political affiliations, it is time to support the president and unite in this juncture.
